G-Shock has quietly updated the much loved GG-B100 Mudmaster line for 2026, introducing the new GG-B100X series! 💪👇

While it looks familiar at first glance, there’s a few enhancements in there, let’s break it down.👇🕺

So, you’re still getting a carbon-fibre reinforced resin case, mud & dust-resistant construction, a glass-fibre reinforced caseback & 200m water resistance. 💦

The GG-B100X also keeps the Quad Sensor setup (Triple Sensor + Pedometer), so you’ve got a Compass 🧭, Altimeter / Barometer ⛰️, Thermometer 🌡️ & Step counter 👣 in there too. ⚙

This also comes with Bluetooth smartphone link, giving you easy settings via the Casio Watches app, as well as Mission Log, for auto-recording altitude data from the watch & route data from your phone. Plus a whole lot more! 🔗

But the real news is the updated 5744 module, this is the main reason the GG-B100X exists. 🔥

Older GG-B100 models (module 5594) had a Location Indicator, but it could only point back to where you started. Useful for backtracking, but of course, limited. ❌

The new GG-B100X (module 5744) fixes this. 👇

👉 You can now set ANY destination point using the smartphone map, not just your current location. 🧭
👉 The watch will then point you toward that destination, just like the higher-end GWG-B1000. 🏁

Two headline models have been announced, the GG-B100XM-1A & GG-B100XMB-1A. Key visual differences of these are their stainless steel front bezel (instead of carbon fibre) & a matte, tool-like finish for improved resistance to mud & debris. 🛠️

Main resin parts of the case & band now use bio-based resin & they’re now slightly heavier at 104g. ⚖️

Expected to release this Feb for the price of 58,300 yen/ ~$370/ ~£270 (GG-B100XM-1A) & 60,500 yen/ ~$390/ ~£285 (GG-B100XMB-1A). 💰

Casio is also updating existing colourways into GG-B100X versions, suggesting the line is still selling strong even 7 years on. 📈

Is it worth it? 🤔

For me, I’d say if you’ve never owned a Mudmaster, this gives you some very good modern options at a great price. However, if you’ve got a GG-B100 already, I’m assuming you probably wouldn’t feel it necessary to upgrade? 💬

I haven’t owned one personally, I’ve always preferred the look of the GWG’s myself, but for those of of you that have a GG-B100, would you trade yours in for this? 🤔
